ROOTED IN THE SECRET PLACE

Image
SELAH! (A Christian’s Reflections) March 16, 2026. With Samuel Sampson On Rooted In The Secret Place (Beyond the Digital Porch) "Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light." —Ephesians 5:14. In our last reflection, we saw how easily a soul can "relax away" its duty while the spiritual altar and the calling freeze over.  That raises the question: "how can we rekindle the lost fire of our callings? " First we must understand that if we spend our lives building for the gaze of men, we are merely architects of shadows. The heavenly "match" with which to relight the spiritual fires of our Spirit is never struck in public spaces but in the secret place. The demonstration of God's power is rooted in the depth of our "hiddenness." To be "found so doing" when the Master returns (Luke 12:43) is not a call to be busy on the digital porch, but to be faithful ...

FIDDLING IN THE FLAMES

SELAH! (A Christian’s Reflections) February 27, 2026. With Samuel Sampson On Fiddling In the Flames🔥 (The Sin of Neglect) "Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light."—Ephesians 5:14 In our last reflection, we refuted the "mega mentality" that now prevail and called for the believer's rest in the master's commendation. For always, "The slothful man saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets."—Proverbs 26:13. While Hudson Taylor rested because he had been faithful, many saints are sa...

Is Jesus Scamming Some? (The Age Of Mega Mentality)

SELAH! (A Christian's Reflections)  _February 18, 2026_ _"His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant... enter thou into the joy of thy lord." — Matthew 25:21_ Last on our Selah!—Christian reflection,_ we ended with a sobering self-audit: asking ourselves whether our "planting" is truly of God or merely the weed of our own wanting—which may be why the Master is not giving growth.  But what about the saint who knows he is working on a project sanctioned by the Father, yet watches the horizon for a harvest that has refused to appear? Or what about the devout faithful who is striving to get his spiritual walk right, yet the reality seems stalled? In an era where many believers are primed on the mantra that "results silences insults" and the merchants of the "more" gospel insist that "if God is in it, it must be mega," many who witness the contrary are left wondering if they are being fooled by the prom...

TODAY'S CHILDREN: OUR TRUE HUMANS

TODAY'S CHILDREN: OUR TRUE HUMANS A thousand flowers, a million blooms To today's children, our true humans, Whose laughs and smiles, is joy to behold. Beaming the world, as they learn and grow, Their little minds curious and blazing bright As they make for all, memories that glow. With imaginations that know no bounds, Their innocence: real than the risen Sun They still sight the future in rainbows glee Today we celebrate their persons and being  Wishing they chart new paths away from ours And build themselves a world unbruised by ours So, from Kiev to Kusk may their laughters ring out loud, From Gaza to Tel Aviv may their plays know no bounds And from Kashmir to the Punjabs their peace we pray. Selah! Happy Children Day To Our Little Lovelies True Humans, still humans, and yet defiled May your peace glow even in our chaotic world.
